The original Edward and Dorothy Cadbury Trust was established in 1928 for benevolent purposes by Edward Cadbury (the grandson of the founder of the chocolate company) and his wife, Dorothy.
The Quaker values of simplicity, equality, justice, peace and care of the environment formed the basis of the grant making policy of the Trust.
The founders focused their support on social welfare, music, nature and education.
The Trustees believe their mission is as relevant today as when Edward and Dorothy first identified the need to support the local community.
